Where does the impetus for wannabe journalists and liberal filing cabinets come from?

From about a thousand West Coast maniacs anxious to prove that the Earth is flat and one hundred deadheads in England and even more flying trapeze artists in Germany and France.

Few attribute and truth to this vast reservoir of random access speculation and misinformation and pedantic nonsense.
