The US internally. American policing, fascism and the instinct for expansionism by its government
International mental breakdown, fascism,is still played out years after the Cold War ended.
How and where?
Firstly, in the form of extra-judicial measures and psychological warfare modelled on the occult on the streets of the West. Secondly,in lesser powers, by drug-fuelled race and religious wars fomented by the CIA and US Military Intelligence.
Many conflicts are based on imaginary ethnic divisions. These divisions are fostered by reactionary politicians and the terrestrial media using imagined ethnocentricity. This imagined identity promulgated by rulers and scholars engineers a situation no different in its nature than the developments which led to the second great world conflagration.
The war of the civilised nations which drew multitudes in is over eighty years past,so has anything been learned?
That war was rooted, according to one contemporary victim and scholar,Eric Von Klemperer,in the Late Romanticism of the closing years of the eighteenth century.
More so in my opinion,it was rooted in the Greek legend of Prometheus, the cult of the sovereign dictator which Stirling of the SAS gang tried to resurrect in Britain in 1974.
A policing comparison. Russia,1988-1991
During Eastern political renewal, the mistakes of the past were rarely made by the state. There was political openness and a very large measure of freedom of speech not found in the West, then or now.
In our times in the West and Germany, police censorship conceals the preparations for militarist aggression and well-planned campaigns of imperialist barbarism. There has been a failure to learn the lessons of good and ethical political judgement and proper international conduct. There is no cooperation to instruct US and Anglo-Saxon society in moral purpose apart from the religious orders and Catholic Church.
....
Is it the case that in this age of social media, censorship is carried on by the commercial sector?
No,largely no! It is the police and military who censor criticism of warmongers and warmongering.
An addendum on revolutionary literature.
The socialist and republican is repelled by credit relations because he realises that finance will not pay for his grand schemes. He talks vaguely about nationalisation of the banks even though he realises that a lot of his plans are costly and unnecessary. The nationalist such as Pearse (see "The Fool") hated to help any indigent individual and is very suspicious of those who he lends money to. He refers to a debtor as "a rough beast"

East-West rivalry and police paranoia
American political paranoia fed by right-wing extremism represented by Reagan, Moynihan and O Neill was manifested in a lack of technical transfers to the Eastern bloc which those around Gorbachev and Yeltsin desired.
During Russia's transition to a social market, its leaders maintained a policy of inadequate nuclear deterrence while beginning a process of economic transformation. They desired to bring Russia up to Western technical and consumer standards in at least the Moscow Metropolitan area.
To achieve the goal of prosperity, the Slavic peoples had to drop their guard and compromise with Western powers.
By the 2000's they were in a better position. However ,they were still unable to come to terms with the world financial system. That was due to the fact that the economic system of the Western world lives by exploitation of other peoples and of the dependent countries and that is something rejected by all Slavic peoples, races and nations.
